The BULMF Team
The board of the BULMF consists of volunteers committed to promoting microlight sport in Belgium. They work closely together with DGLV to draft and follow up on the legal framework.
Our Mission
The mission of the Belgian ULM Federation is to represent pilots of microlight aircraft and the owners and users of airfields serving microlight aviation to the national and European aviation authorities and to inform them accordingly with the aim of increasing flight safety.
The Belgian ULM Federation is the association and spokesperson for the microlight community in Belgium. BULMF promotes an attractive, safe and accessible air sport without unnecessary obstacles. Cool and safe flying is our motto!
Our federation:
- liaises with CAA and EASA (exams, medical fitness, microlight sites, use of airspace, radio and transponder use, delineation of aviation zones, …)
- assists in submitting the technical files to obtain microlight licences and authorizations
- supports pilots wishing to make record attempts and have them recognised through FAI
- maintains the website with all useful microlight info
- invests in ‘safe flying’ by organising navigation flights, safety seminars, publication of a Safety Memo
- provides assistance coaching for instructors into modernising training
- negotiates attractive insurance policies
- keeps members up-to-date on all developments
- communicates via mailing and Facebook
The Belgian ULM Federation acts together with its fellow air sports federations at Belgian and European level.
